10 things you can do with Facebook Portal



The Facebook portal does more than just calls. You can use it to watch videos, play games and find out the local weather, or help tell children's stories.

Playing games, watching videos

When you swipe left from the Home screen, a selection of apps appears. One of them is called Watch . The name really does not point you to everything he does. Controlling where people call you

You can set it up so people can only call home with the Home and Away feature when you're home. On the home screen, swipe left and tap Settings> Incoming call settings> Only when you are at home . Then go to your phone and confirm that you want to use the Home and Away feature when the alert message appears.

This automatically routes calls to your phone only when you are away from home.

Tell Stories

If you want to make video calls with the little kids in your life, the Story Time feature will be your new favorite activity. Basically, you can tell a story with story filters and screen announcements. To select the story, the three little pigs, the Itsy Bitsy spider and Mary Had a little lamb.

Tap the Story Time icon at the bottom of the screen to get started. Some story options are displayed. Touch the story you want.

The person on the other side of the conversation will see a storybook scene appear around your head and words on the story appear on your page so you can read the story during the video call.

Add your local weather to the superframe.

With the weather superframe setting, you can see the current weather at a glance. Tap Settings> Superframe and switch the weather option .

Enable notifications for your Favorites

You can set up notification when one of your favorites becomes active in Messenger or Facebook. On the home screen, touch the person's icon and tap the i " icon in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window. Then activate the option Activity Notification .

When the person becomes active, your portal will make a click sound to let you know.

If you have problems wearing your readers (like me), or if you just need some extra help with your glasses, there is a solution. Go to Settings> Accessibility and select the checkbox. Three taps for magnification .

Add more accounts

No doubt your other family members or friends want to use your portal. No problem. You can add up to four accounts.

The Spotlight feature of Portal basically holds the camera to a specific person, even in a crowded room. In the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, a notification is displayed labeled Spotlight On .

When you're done with the person, tap the bottom right corner of the screen and select Spotlight Off .
