Apple's Dark Mode affects all system apps, such as messages or settings, and third-party developers can implement the new feature in their apps and switch from standard to dark mode depending on the device's current status.
Before iOS had its own dark mode, it was up to any developer to create a dark version of the app, so you be able to manually change the themes for each individual app. The new dark mode setting optimizes this process if an app supports it.
How to Switch to Dark Mode
There are several ways to switch to dark mode on your iPhone or iPad. Depending on the time of day, you can switch your device automatically or switch it on and off manually via the Control Center.
Use the schedule by switching to Settings > Display and Brightness and enabling Auto . Then tap Options and choose whether you want to use Sunset to Sunrise or set a custom schedule.
Add a dark mode to the Control Center by going to Settings> Control Center> Customize Controls and searching for the Dark Mode control under More Controls and clicking the "+ "tap it.
If you continue, you can enable or disable dark mode by going to the Control Center (swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen) and tapping the Dark Mode icon.
If you search for "Dark Mode" on the App Store, you'll find a list of Apple curated apps and apps with the name "Dark". The list of Apple is helpful, but rather limited. Here are some of my favorite apps that support the dark mode of iOS 13.
This calendar app integrates iCloud calendars and reminders into an easy-to-read interface. It also comes with a dark mode. When viewing the main screen, tap the gear icon and slide the switch next to iOS Light or Dark Mode to On . When this option is enabled, Fantastical will use the system setting to determine which mode to use.
The dark mode of Twitter looks pretty damn good. Turn it on by going to the settings area of the app and then selecting Display and Sound > Dark Mode and adjusting when to turn it on. Power On Use the device setting to automatically switch with the mode of your iPhone or iPad.
To enable Reddit's Dark Mode, slide the menu on the left side of the screen outward, tap Settings and then enable Auto in the Dark mode area. You can change the darkness of the theme by selecting Night Theme and your personal preferences.
iA Writer is a handy app for writing and writing notes. You can find the dark mode by selecting the gear icon while viewing your library and then selecting Appearance > System .
When you browse your library or search for new books, the Apple Books app uses the system's Light or Dark mode setting. However, once you open a book, you will need to adjust it yourself. Reading a book on a bright background at night is a hard affair for your eyes. Therefore, Apple's book app offers various color options, including a dark mode. While reading a book, touch the "Aa" icon, then select the color on the far right. You can also adjust the brightness or activate the automatic night design if you prefer to do it on your iPhone or iPad.
Slack set his dark mode some time ago and is now directly linked to your system settings. The app does not even have a setting that you can use to turn it on or off. Regardless of which mode your phone or tablet is in, Slack is also in this mode.

If you often need to sign documents from your iPhone or iPad, you've probably heard or used SignEasy. As with Slack, there is no setting that you need to adjust. SignEasy will switch between light and dark mode depending on the system settings of your device.
Dark mode apps with their own settings
Some apps continue to use their own dark mode setting but are still worth mentioning.
Facebook has recently officially introducedfor Messenger. You can now find the toggle by tapping your profile avatar when you see a list of your conversations. Night mode should be the first option in the settings.
Two clicks are required to enable feedly's dark mode. To exit the menu, tap the menu button in the lower left corner, and then select Night Mode . Quite simple, right?
Of course, the Kindle app has similar settings to Apple Books, with settings in the book. While reading a book, tap the screen to see the different buttons. Select the "Aa" button and then Black at the bottom of the screen.
Google Maps uses the dark mode automatically when you navigate at night. You can also force him to use the night mode when navigating during the day. Open Google Maps, slide out the menu on the left side of the screen, and select Settings > Navigation . Scroll down to Map Display and select Night .
