The grade 9 is here. And with that comes a long list of new features and functions. For example, the S Pen can do all sorts of new things. The camera can even analyze your photos in real time and suggest when it's time to record a new one.
When you set your grade 9, we have some suggestions for settings that you should change immediately.
Change the navigation keys
By default, the navigation buttons on Samsung devices (left to right) are left, home and back. And that's fine if you're not used to ordering from just about any other Android device on the market: back home, recents. Fortunately, you can change the order in Settings > to your liking Display > Navigation bar > Keys .
Use SD card?
Of course you are! It is one of the main selling points of a Samsung device, not to mention the touch line. Make sure your photos and videos are stored where you want them, rather than just deciding your note.
Open the Camera app, tap Settings (next to the trigger), and then select Memory location from the menu. Select the device memory or SD card and then the setting area.
Camera Quick Start
Quick access to the camera is one of the most important features on any phone, and for years Samsung devices use twice the power button to open the camera app regardless of the current status of the device.
Make sure the feature is enabled in the Camera app by selecting Settings and scrolling down to find Quick Launch. Activate it and test the function by locking the phone and pressing the power button twice. Boom, say cheese!
Icon Frames are just funny
Can Samsung already give up app frames? They just look weird and make app icons look out of place. Go to Settings > Display > Icon frames and select icons only to remove the frames
The Note 9 It has just been declared the best smartphone display ever, but the use of the full resolution phone has an impact on battery life. Or, on the other hand, you might want to use every single pixel that Grade 9 has to offer. In both cases, you can adjust the screen resolution of the Note 9 by selecting Settings > Display > Screen resolution .
The middle option – FHD +, 2,200 x 1,080 – is a happy medium.
Tinker with Edge Panel
After setting your Note 9, you will notice a small white bar on the right side of the screen. Swipe left over the bar to open the Edge Panel, where you'll find app links as well as other tricks.
The Edge Panel lets you quickly switch between apps while launching two apps on a split screen or viewing information in the various available edge panels. Settings > > Edge screen > Edge panels View pre-installed panels, arrange panels, or download more panels the overflow menu (three-point icon) in the upper right corner of the settings page.
… and Edge Lighting
When Edge Lighting is turned on, the edges of the touch screen light up to bring your attention to the phone. If you place your phone face down on a table or desk, you may still see the colors due to the curved edges of the screen.
You can adjust the effect, color, transparency, and width of the light. You can even choose which apps you want to use with Edge Lighting. Go to Settings > Display > Edge screen > Edge lighting to adjust the touch's Edge Lighting function
Avoid accidental touching Calling by accident or It's annoying when you have a text message full of gibberish when you put your phone in a bag or backpack. Go to Settings > Display > Block Accidental Touch to activate a feature that uses different sensors to detect when it is in a dark location, like a bag or bag, and block any accidental touches.
Using a screen protector
Note 9 has a nice screen, so it's only natural that you want to put a screen protector on it. A potential disadvantage of screensavers is that they can affect the touch sensitivity of the screen. Bottom of Settings > Advanced Features is an option called Touch Sensitivity. Activate this function if you have problems with the screen after installing a screen protector.
fingerprint sensor gesture
As the size of the Note 9 display increases, reaching the top of the screen to pull down the notification screen can make a big difference. Instead, use the fingerprint sensor as a trackpad by swiping the sensor with your finger and displaying your notifications.
Activate the gestures in Settings > Advanced Features > Finger Sensor Gestures
If you want to start the Samsung Pay with the fingerprint sensor, you can enable it here
Get rid of Bixby
If you get tired of accidentally firing Bixby by pressing the associated button – uncheck it.
Since Note 9 will officially start on August 24th, evaluation software is still running on my Note 9 and some settings are missing to completely disable Bixby. Ultimately, I would guess if Bixby is updated for launch, it will contain the same settings.
In the meantime, you can follow Bixby Home with a long press on the homescreen followed by Swipe right until Bixby Home is displayed, and slide the switch to the position Off .
