Prior to the launch of Apple Maps in 2012, Google Maps was the default iOS navigation app. However, Apple was not pleased that Google was able to conquer the entire area on its own, and was determined to create its own unique map app for its hardware. The project had its ups and downs over time, but with iOS 13 using its own original map tools and analytics, Apple launched a redesigned map app. Here's how to use both new and old features.
How to Look Around
The new Look Around feature provides a look at your street level environment or a place you are looking for, in the map app. Wherever you see the binoculars icon for a location, you can use the Look Around feature in Apple Maps. Tap this button to see an enlarged street view of the location in a small map at the top of the window. Tap this button to see a full screen view. From there, you can navigate with your finger through the immediate area.
How to Create a Collection
The new Maps collections feature lets you combine different locations, such as: You may want to visit restaurants, local parks, or sightseeing in the city otherwise. You can share collection lists with friends and relatives to comment on and follow places you want to show guests or visitors.
How to Create a Favorites List
Maps in iOS 13 have a Favorites feature that lets you search for specific places and add them to a favorites list. By default, favorites start with "home" and "work." However, you can add to the grocery store, the library, the pet store, the nursery and other places where you often visit. If you are not sure which direction to take, you do not have to constantly search for the route. If it is one of your favorites, you always have the instructions at hand.
Share your ETA
With the latest version If you use Maps for iOS 13, you can share your estimated time of arrival (ETA) and your route so that friends, family, or employees know when to expect them , Open your destination in Maps and tap Directions and then Go to . Swipe up before leaving and tap Share ETA . Select one or more contacts for sharing. During your trip, your contacts can view your estimated time of arrival, route, and destination in the Maps app, including delays until you arrive there safely. To stop sharing, swipe up, tap Share by ETA and tap the contact.
How to Search with One Touch
When Location Services is enabled and "Apple Maps Nearby" is enabled, it is quite convenient. Tap the search bar and a pop-up window with locations near you in various categories – including restaurants, grocery stores, cafes and other popular destinations – will be displayed. Touch a category and each listed item will appear on the map. From there you can retrieve the corresponding list for exact instructions.
Deleting a Pin
Deleting a pin on a map is the easiest way to visualize the distance between a place and another place. Get directions to that place. If you want to put a pin in Apple Maps, tap on your target a little longer. A red pin is displayed automatically. When you create a new PIN, you can get directions to their exact address, find their geographic coordinates, add them to favorites, create a new contact, add them to an existing contact, or share the location via messages, e-mail, notes, or Twitter ,
How to Remove a Pin
If you move around the city quickly, it is easy to drop pins across the country. At some point, you'll want to free up space for new targets and remove old pins that you no longer need. To remove a pin, tap the pin, and then tap Edit Location . Once you get there, you can move the card with your finger to move the pin, or simply tap Remove Marker and the pin moves into the gradient.

Then go to Settings> Privacy> Location Services> System Services> Important Sites . You may need to enter your passcode. Then go to Settings> Show Parked Location to activate it.
