Maybe it's the sudden overtime games. Or the same team two consecutive weeks game by game. Or the trophy – Lord Stanley's Cup – itself.

In any sport, the intensity increases with the playoff time, but with the Stanley Cup, hockey reaches a different level. There is a notable difference in the cruelty between a regular season NHL game and a full NHL playoff game. There is nothing comparable to the Stanley Cup.

The games of the first round started again on Wednesday, April 10th. Each series is a best-of-seven contest. So you can assume that ice hockey will run until June.
