4 Ways To Take The Gym With You On The Road – Review Geek



If you travel a lot, it may feel like it's difficult to maintain a regular workout routine. Here are some of our favorite ways to make it easier.

Gyms like having lots of equipment to get fit. No three way trap tree? You will never be fit. The truth is that you do not actually need much.

If you really want to make big and strong, you have to lift big heavy weights. This will not be possible on the street unless you go to a local gym. Even my pretty much powerlifting numbers are between four and six times the maximum restraint weight limit in an airplane, so no packing dumbbells to either get that kind of winnings.

On the other hand, if you're just looking to keep yourself fit and make sure you do not relapse when you're on the road, there's a lot you can do.

A Lacrosse Ball or (if you have room) a foam roll ($ 7-35)

Recovery is an important part of any fitness program. You can not fancy leather every week. If you are only on holiday for one or two weeks, try to balance your recovery and vacation time.

However, recovery time does not mean you sit in a hammock all day drinking Piña Coladas. This is not a recovery for your muscles (or your poor, damaged liver). Recreation means active rest: think, long walks, light jogging, some body weight exercises and a lot of stretching.

You probably remember many stretches of your gymnastics days, but if you really want to get involved in the muscles and pain points, then a foam roller is the way to go.

We like the 13 "TriggerPoint GRID Foam Roller ($ 34.99), it comes with free online instructional videos to get you started, but more importantly, it's a great foam roller, the bumpy surface is perfect, Practically, while the GRID is still quite large as it is hollow, it does not take up much space in your pocket, you can fill it with clothing and you only lose a small amount of volume.

If you really need space or only travel with hand luggage, then there is another option: the modest lacrosse ball ($ 7) – small and strong, a lacrosse ball fits in every pocket and can really train muscle knots.

Good Coach ($ 134)

If you need to do more than just recover, a good pair of coaches can be just what you need just because they give you lots of options. You can work out in the gym of the hotel (or another nearby gym) and workout regularly, run a run, do interval training or do some bodyweight exercises in your room or, even better, in a local park. Unfortunately, coaches will not get you very far without some knowledge. Anyone can jog, but if you want to do more, you should put together a proper plan. To build your knowledge, we really like freeletics. It's packed with great programs that only affect body weight.

Resistance Bands

Bodyweight exercises are great, but they are limited because you can really only work with gravity as resistance. This means that some things, like squats, are pretty easy, while others, like pull-ups, are pretty tough.

One way to add another source of resistance to your training is resistance bands. These strong elastic bands come in a variety of strengths and exponentially increase the number of exercises you can do and muscles that you can target. For more information about freeletics, see Freeletics.

Monkii Bars 2 (195 $)

If you are serious about having a full gym in your pocket then you need to check out Monkii Bars 2 ($ 195).

If you spend time in a gym, you probably know what the Monkii Bars are doing. They are portable gym rings (or TRX straps). You can do hundreds of different exercises with them, but best of all, they let you scale the difficulty of the exercises. For example, you can make it difficult to push up your hands by making it easier to feet with raised push-ups and pull-ups (or pull-up like exercises), by making inverted rows instead. The included instruction app guides you through everything.

If you travel a lot, there's no real reason why you can not get involved in any kind of exercise program. You have to make some sacrifices, but the right equipment can go a long way.
