5 tips for free-tier users of Spotify

There are certainly some good reasons to pay for Spotify Premium except for the obvious reasons for removing the ads. This does not mean that the free version of Spotify contains only one ad, in which only the ads are mixed. Far from it. Here are a few tips on how to use Spotify for free.

On Demand Playlists

One of the biggest drawbacks of the free version of Spotify is that you do not have the ability to play any song. Instead, you must mix every collection of songs you meet, with one exception. Well, 15 exceptions. Spotify offers 15 on-demand playlists that you can listen to in any order and skip to your heart's content. These playlists can be found in Made for You on the Home screen. Any playlist without the dreaded blue shuffle icon can be played in any way.

Create Your Own Playlists

Playlists are not just games from premium subscribers. Free users can also create playlists. There are two ways to create a playlist. Just tap the button next to any title, tap and then to the playlist . Then select a playlist to add to a new playlist or create a new one. You can also tap the Heart button in the Current Title window to like a song that adds it to your Favorites playlist. Now for some sobering, but hardly surprising news for free users: you can only listen to your playlists in shuffle-only mode.

Like and hide

If you do not stick to the 15 on-demand playlists, free users will mostly listen to Spotify in shuffle mode. To help Spotify find out which songs you want to mix for yourself, you can like and hide songs. Just tap the heart icon to highlight a song or the circle with a crossed-out icon to hide a song. Theoretically, the more you tell Spotify what you like and what you do not like, the better it is for him to recommend songs for your listening pleasure.

Wiggle on Wi-Fi Speakers

Listening to a Bluetooth speaker can be a frustrating exercise. With the Spotify Connect speakers, you can eliminate the potentially fruitless and painful Bluetooth connection process and connect to the supported Connect speakers via Wi-Fi. Spotify connectivity was once the domain of premium subscribers. Now free users can connect Spotify to Wi-Fi speakers. Make sure your phone and speakers are connected to the same network, and then tap [Available Devices] at the bottom of the current title window of your phone to display the connection options.

Saving data with Data Saver

If you find that Spotify is devouring too much of your mobile data, you're a good candidate for Data Saver mode. It switches your streaming quality from normal to low when you are on a cellular connection. Nobody likes to reduce the quality of the stream, but it might be worth it at the end of the month as you approach your data limit. Go to Your library tap the gear icon to open the settings. Then tap Data Saver and turn it on.
