From connecting third-party apps and voice-activated Google Assistant in deeper and more useful ways, to new communication tools designed to make the conversation easier, Android 11 brings many important changes as Apple prepares for itWith on October 13th.

Google Assistant now works with third-party apps
For years, Android users have been able to open their e-mails, send a text and control a whole range of actions on their phones with the Google Assistant. However, the feature was limited to Android apps and services. Apple’s Siri, on the other hand, has been able to control third-party apps for some time.
But. The company recently announced partnerships with 30 third-party apps, including Walmart, Mint, Spotify, Etsy, and Discord. It assumes that more will be added in the coming weeks and months.
Now Android 11 users can perform tasks for specific apps by saying:
- “Hey Google, find cozy blankets on Etsy”
- “OK, Google, open Selena Gomez on Snapchat.”
- “Hey Google, log a berry smoothie on MyFitnessPal.”
Verified calls show who is calling
When your phone rings out of the blue, you want to know who is calling and why. The Android app that you use to make and receive calls has received some updates to help you figure this out even if you don’t recognize the number – just like iPhones.
FurthermoreGoogle also introduced the Verified Calls feature that authorizes specific companies and displays the company name, logo, reason for the call, and a confirmation icon.
There is a similar program called Verified SMS for text messaging.
Android can turn sounds into push notifications
All kinds of things from microwaves to fire alarms to visitors standing on your doorstep will alert you with sound. However, if you have hearing loss or wear headphones, you may not be able to catch them all.The function is to listen for all beeps, buzzing tones and knocks in your area and then notify you with a push notification on your phone.
Sound Notifications uses machine learning and your phone’s microphone to hear 10 different types of sounds, including baby sounds, running water, smoke and fire alarms, beeping devices, and door knocking. Apple’s newest mobile operating system, iOS 14, has a similar feature.
Open to enable sound notifications in Android 11 the settingsand then tap Accessibility and activate Sound notifications.
Google TV is coming to Android
Android TV, recently renamed and updated to Google TV, is introduced to Android devices with a host of new and old features that can be synced across devices, including your library, recommendations, and watchlist. This brings it to the level of Apple TV ($ 180 at Best Buy) Devices and apps.
The biggest change Google TV brings to the Android movie and TV experience is the ability to search multiple providers like Netflix, Hulu, and even Live TV. You can ask “Hey Google, find action movies” or “Show me sci-fi adventure TV shows”. The results will span your subscriptions.
Google Duo adds screen sharing and video voicemails
People who rely on Google Duo mobile video calling service to communicate with family and friends now have a number of new ways to connect using screen sharing and video voicemails with subtitles – two features that Apple’s FaceTime lacks.
