It can be difficult to keep track of directions and change the music you hear on your smartphone at the same time. but Google Maps wants to fix that. With one of the features of the map service, you can control the music playback in Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play Music from Google Maps ̵
1; while you navigate in the car, on public transport or even on your bike.
Regardless of whether you're using iOS or Android, you can access Google Map settings and enable these controls for music playback. They are then added at the bottom of the screen during navigation so you can pause or skip a track and get directions – all from a single app. It's very similar to the Waze implementation that works with Pandora, Deezer, and some other music and radio apps that Google Maps does not currently support.
Option 1: Use the music playback controls on iOS
If you have an iPhone, open Google Maps and tap the three-line icon in the upper-left corner to access the sidebar menu. Then, under Travel tap Settings, and then touch Navigation.
Now tap on "Music playback controls" and select the desired music streaming service. You can only choose between Apple Music and Spotify on an iPhone. You must have the music app installed on your device to sync with Google Maps. Although there is a Google Play Musc app for iOS, it is currently supported only for Android.
