Adding pictures to a header or footer in Microsoft Word

Headers and footers in a Word document are useful for adding dates, page numbers, and any other text. You can also paste pictures into your header and footer. This is useful if, for example, you want to add a company logo. This is how it works:

First we have to add a header or footer. If you just want to open the header or footer area and do your own thing, just double-click on the areas at the top or bottom of a page in your document.

Word also offers some built-in functions. In header and footer designs, you can get started quickly. To use them, go to the "Insert" tab and click either the "Header" or "Footer" button.

 Insert header or footer

This opens a drop-down menu with several built-in layouts, so choose what you want. This goes to the first header option, which is an empty default header.

 Blank header

You can enter text if you want, or if you want only one image, select and delete the example.

 Mark text area

Whether or not you use text in the header (or footer), place the insertion point where you want to insert your image, and then drop it Switch to the Design tab of the Header and Footer tool.

 Design tab "width =" 453 "height =" 160 "src =" /pagespeed_static/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif "onload =" pagespeed.lazyLoadImages. loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this); "onerror =" this.onerror = null; pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this);

In the "Insert" section, you can either select "Images" if you have a picture saved on your computer or "Online Pictures" if you want to retrieve pictures from the Internet.

 Change image size in header gif "width =" 620 "height =" 240 "src = "/pagespeed_static / 1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif" onload = "pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this);" onerror = "this.onerror = null; pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this);

When you're done, click with Document, or choose Close Header and Footer on the Design tab.

 Close header and footer "width =" 355 "height =" 160 "src =" /pagespeed_static/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif "onload =" pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this); "onerror = "this.onerror = null; pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon (this);

That's it! Repeat these steps if you want to put an image in the footer of the document.
