Two suspects were reportedly in custody and a police officer was injured after a person opened fire outside a Bass Pro Shops store in Spanish Fort, Ala., Saturday.
The shooter shot multiple times in the boat and ATV area of the store outside the store, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said.
“He just shot the whole place. He literally shot at least 50 times,” branch employee Davis Marrero told Mobile’s WPMI-TV. “His wife had something to do with it, I know, because she threw ammunition at him to actually reload and keep firing.
“He shot two types of rifle, an AR-15, and what I was told was an AR-10 which is also a .308 which is a more powerful round,”
A responding officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released, WPMI reported.

WKRG-TV mobile news agency reported that a witness saw the shooter fire more than 50 shots into an outside area, but the doors were closed preventing him from getting inside.
“I spoke to my wife on the phone and said, ‘Oh my god, he’s right in front of me,” the witness told the news agency. ” He was knocked down but fortunately not shot. He shot and reloaded at least 50 times. “
The role of the second suspect in the incident was not immediately clear. It was unclear whether the second person arrested was an armed man’s wife.
