Amazon Acquires Eero for Stronger Smarthome Connections – Review Geek

Amazon buys the mesh wifi company Eero to strengthen its smarthome offerings. With more and more smart devices relying on Wi-Fi, Amazon needs a powerful network connectivity solution, and Eero is the solution.

9 showed that smart Wi-Fi devices come into full effect. Unfortunately, current Wi-Fi standards are less powerful and require fewer distances than ZigBee or Z-Wave mesh standards. This is a problem for Amazon's smart home ambitions. Most of Amazon's current smart home offerings (from Ring to Echo to the Smart Outlets) are Wi-Fi devices.

Google already has a mesh system that can help with this problem if Amazon wanted to offer Wi-Fi Mesh either to build a new system from scratch or buy a robust existing system. The latter chose the latter and opted for Eero for the latest acquisition.

Amazon and Eero say that together they can provide a better smartphone experience, as Dave Limp, SVP of Amazon Devices and Services, stated in a press release: [19659006] We have a shared vision that the smart home Experience, and we strive to evolve on behalf of our customers.

Amazon's purchase of ring seems to have gone smoothly After purchase, Eero should remain a viable product instead of being shut down and folded into another existing product.
