Cosmetic augmented reality specialist ModiFace really seems to benefit from the brand strength of L & # 39; Oréal, which the company acquired over the past year.
After Facebook added ModiFace to its AR platform earlier this year, online retailer Amazon followed suit and agreed to use ModiFace's cosmetics technology in its webshop. ModiFace's try-before-you-buy tools run on Amazon Web Services and are available for lipstick products sold to US and Japanese customers.

The acquisition of Amazon's cosmetics business consolidates the position of ModiFace as a leading supplier of AR tools to the cosmetics industry. In both cases, it does not look as if Augmented Reality will go out of fashion with the cosmetics industry in the near future.
