Android Q Beta: Install it now on Pixel, OnePlus, Huawei and 13 other phones

As with Android Pie Google has extended the beta program for Android Q beyond its own pixel telephone series . The beta program was officially opened on Tuesday during the opening keynote at Google I / O for 21 phones. The company also announced a new smart display called Google Nest Hub Max and improvements to Google Assistant revealing more details on Android Q .

Before We go further ̵

1; we do not recommend installing Android Q on your main phone. Since it is still in the beta phase, there will be mistakes that will break things and almost ruin the battery life. If you do not have an old phone that is compatible with the beta program, you should wait later in the test cycle before getting in. Google warns users during the sign-up process: "Certain features (including core features, such as your ability to make and receive calls) or applications may not function properly."

Beta testing is fun, safe. But if you want your phone to work 100 percent, stay off.

If you're interested in providing feedback and helping Google locate bugs, below is a list of supported devices and instructions for installing Android Q.

Which devices are eligible?

This year, Google has worked with 12 different device manufacturers to bring the total number of eligible phones to 21 for the Android Q test. Here they are:

As in previous years, even Samsung phones are not included in the beta program. We've contacted Samsung to find out why, and ask about possible participation before the beta ends.

How do I install the app?

The process depends on the brand of your phone. Pixel users can visit the Google Beta website and sign up for the program. Essential Phone users must manually flash Android Q on their phone or wait for the OTA build to be available. The official Android Q beta website lists each supported device and includes a link to the device manufacturer's instructions to register for the beta program.

Can I leave the beta?

Yes, but be prepared to reset your phone to factory settings and lose everything that is not secured elsewhere. Again, you will need to visit the Android Q Beta Device List to get instructions for your phone.
