Another city in Massachusetts bans door-to-door trick or treating


Lowell is banning door-to-door cheating or door-to-door treatment this Halloween to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the city police department said Thursday. The city is currently rated “red” under the state’s COVID-19 risk labeling system and has seen a significant increase in new cases in recent weeks. “Given these factors, city officials determined that allowing it to trick or treat would pose a significant risk to community public health,” said the division, and should be classified as high-risk activities by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention be avoided. Three other cities in Massachusetts are also banning trick or treating due to COVID-19. Leicester, Springfield and Worcester have also canceled trick or treating. The vast majority of cities in Bay State have not announced any plans.

The vast majority of cities in Bay State have not announced any plans.
