It's an exciting time to be an Apple fan. On Monday not only new Apple services and subscriptions were announced, but also the official release of iOS 12.2. If you're a beta tester, you've probably been following the evolution of 12.2 in the last two months. Well, get ready to do it all over again – Apple released the first developer beta for iOS 12.3 today, Wednesday, March 27th.
The update adds a new icon for the TV app and includes Apple TV Channels on stage earlier this week. Beta testers will find that Apple TV Channels is a complete overhaul of the TV app, including the ability to view subscription services without leaving the app.
The new iOS 12.3 developer beta is likely to contain bug fixes for issues in earlier versions of iOS and may contain security fixes for known vulnerabilities. We will not know until both have released the Release Notes for Beta 1 and until we and other parties sink our teeth into the update.
To download and update your iPhone on iOS 12.3 dev beta 1, you must do so first by becoming a registered developer with a valid configuration profile. If iOS 12 automatic updates are enabled, you can have the software updated overnight. For immediate installation, start the Settings app, select "General" and then "Software Update". Tap "Download and install" and follow the instructions on the screen.
