There is a free one-month trial before you have to pay the $ 10 monthly fee. The good news is that everyone in your family has unrestricted access to Apple News Plus and can have their own favorites and personalized recommendations.

In addition to the US, News Plus is available in Canada and offers more than 30 Canadian English and French language magazines and the Toronto Star newspaper. The premium service will be launched later this year in Australia and Europe, Apple said. ($ 9.99 converted to around £ 7.50 or $ 14.)

I downloaded the new service and it's easy to set up. It's also easy to find what you're looking for, either by browsing through the catalog or leafing through theme-specific tabs that cover gardening – right at the top of the app.

That's how you can start. You can find more information about how the service works until the end.

How to Read Magazines in Apple News Plus

Subscribing to News Plus gives you unrestricted access to all magazines and newspapers included in this plan. You can browse the catalog to see the entire collection and then tap a magazine cover to display the table of contents if the magazine has one – not all.

Publishers can also create an animated magazine cover that gives an appealing live photos look. I love how the animated cover looks, but I only saw one from National Geographic as I rummaged through the collection.

To direct you to content that you may be interested in, Apple's news editors curate collections of articles and topics so you can take a look B. handpicked feature stories or interesting travel items. You do not have to be self-conscious with your reading choices: Apple has explicitly stated that neither he nor his advertisers will be able to track what you are reading.

Browse through the catalog and read a magazine

Tap the Browse Catalog tab to see all the latest publications. Magazines are sorted alphabetically, starting with ABC Soaps in Depth.

Tap a magazine to start reading. For non-indexed journals, page through the pages by tapping the Next arrow in the lower-right corner of the page.

If you have a table of contents, scroll down from the cover to see the table of contents, and then tap to navigate to a story.

The main window also displays the current magazine you are reading in My Magazines section. The most recent magazine you've opened appears here, but I have not seen any obvious way to queue up more than one magazine.

If you want to read the magazine offline, tap the small download button under the cover to save the magazine magazine to your phone.

When you open a magazine, you can tap the Share button in the upper-right corner to share the magazine with another News Plus subscriber. You can also jump back to the beginning of the magazine by tapping the thumbnail of the magazine in the lower left corner. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner to return to the main page.

Search magazine by topic

At the top you can scroll through the tabs above to find a topic that interests you in. The tabs of Business & Finance are arranged alphabetically to women's lifestyle. Tap a tab to view the collection of magazines that Apple has collected in the collection.

Jump to curated content

Scroll down the main page to see magazines and articles that Apple highlights. Choices I saw browsing included a Rolling Stone article on Game of Thrones, travel tips, and a selection of industry, entertainment, and science news.

Why I Like Apple News Plus

The 10-Dollar All-You-Can-Read The monthly price is certainly attractive if you subscribe to more than one publication like me. I pay for the digital version of several newspapers, get a physical paper every day, and subscribe to three or four more weekly magazines. It adds up: Monthly access to the Washington Post costs $ 3.99 on an Amazon Prime account. A basic digital subscription to the New York Times costs $ 15 per month, and access to The New Yorker's digital edition costs $ 8.33 per month, for example. And it's not just about saving money. As readership across the publishing industry decreased, Apple's entry into the magazine subscription business could potentially bring more readers – and more money.
