Apple released iOS 12.3 dev beta 2 this Monday, April 8, 12 days after the first iOS 12.3 beta. This update introduces new Japanese date and time functions and updates for Wallet transactions. Overall, iOS 12.3 introduces Apple's previously announced Apple TV channels, premium monthly subscriptions with content that you can view directly in the TV app for Apple products.
According to the Apple release notes, the only major change is the new Japanese Date & Time feature. This means support for the Reiwa era of the Japanese calendar as well as a change in which the first year of the Japanese calendar time is represented as a "roast" instead of a previous one. You may also see an error if you set the system time before May 1
Wallet also displays an update to your transaction history. Purchases made in Safari or other apps on your iPhone are now listed as in-app purchases. This follows Apple's Step 12.3 Beta 1 to change the building icon next to transactions to a gray square with a white dot in the middle. Beta 2 is also likely to include some bug fixes for issues found in Beta 1 and beyond, as well as potential security fixes for vulnerabilities found in iOS.
If you're a public tester, do not worry. While the update is not yet available, Apple will normally release your version 3 to 24 hours after the release of the Developer Beta (public Beta 1 was released a day later). Keep your eyes peeled and update the Software Updates page on your iPhone.
