Apple Releases iOS 12.1 Beta 2 for Developers, Introducing Over 70 New Emoji «iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks



On Tuesday, October 2, Apple released the second developer beta for iOS 12.1 for testers. The new update includes over 70 new emoji, including emoji with red hair, gray hair and curly hair, an emoji for bald people's face, lobster, tennis ball and more

Adding new emoji was a surprise – Apple announced the news over one Press release, coinciding with the release of dev beta 2. The company does not yet have Release Notes for The Update, which seems to be a new trend for the company with iOS 12.1.

To download and update your iPhone iOS 12.1 Developer Beta 2, you must first become a registered developer with a valid configuration profile be. If you've enabled iOS 12's new "Automatic Updates," you can have the software updated overnight. To download the beta version now, start the app settings, select "General" and then "Software Update". Tap Download and Install, then follow the instructions on the screen to download and install iOS 12.1 dev beta 2.

iOS 12.1 reintroduces Group FaceTime for iPhones. Apple shelved the feature that premiered during Apple's WWDC presentation in June with iOS 12 dev beta 7. The company acknowledged FaceTime calls to up to 32 people who did not use the official version of iOS 12 and were instead served in a later update, "This Fall."

If Apple does not delay this feature to iOS 12.2, 12.1 will appear as the update shown above.

Another notable feature is the ability to select the portrait focus level on the iPhone X S and X S Max before you've taken your photo to have. With these new iPhones, you can not change the sharpness level after the snapshot.
