Apple offers iPhone owners even more ways to express themselves through Animojis with a variety of customization options for their personal memojis.
Apple Announced All Updates During Opening Speech at Cupertino's Annual Worldwide Developer Conference For news, the Memoji feature enabled by the iPhone X Series True Depth Depth Sensing Camera can be used to create a cartoon doppelganger, more similar to the user.
This fall (the traditional time for the release of any major iOS version) users have the option of jewelry and to add piercings, makeup, unique hairstyles, eyewear and hats, personalized teeth (that's right, grills) and even airpods.
Additionally, iOS 13 can automatically generate memojis-style stickers that can be accessed from the keyboard. Allow users to post their memojis to non-messaging apps.
Since launching the iPhone X in September 2017, Animojis have been de facto the face of Apple's push into the extended reality, as the animated cartoons were seen in several television commercials. The feature also inspired the short-lived phenomenon of Animoji Karaoke.
After Apple introduced a new character set in iOS 11.3, Apple introduced new characters and the personalized Memoji option at WWDC last year. Memoji allowed Ariana Grande to insert a virtual clone of herself for her music video "7 Rings".
Since ARKit (previously) was not included in the WWDC keynote, Apple seems to rely on Animoji to carry the AR torch for the company, at least in the near future.
