Doctors and police say at least eight people on or near college campuses in Chicago have sustained eye injuries from a series of paintball attacks.
Most of the attacks appear to have taken place at the University of Chicago in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the south side.
The daily incident report by the university police lists nine paintball attacks on pedestrians in the region between Saturday and Monday alone.

It is unclear how severe the injuries were, but Shah said paintball projectiles can cause serious damage.
The Chicago Police Department reported four more paintball incidents to NBC News: three on October 5 in Hyde Park and one on Monday in Ravenswood, on the north side of town.
At least another neighborhood of the city has been targeted this week, according to NBC Chicago.
DePaul University student Collin Pierce told the outlet that he was attacked in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on Monday.
