Your iPhone is almost out of battery, there’s no wired or wireless charger in sight, and you’ve left your portable power bank at home. Open the Settings app and tap Control Center. On iOS 14 and later, under, tap the plus sign (+) next to “Power Saver” More controls. On iOS 13 and below, you must tap Customize Controls before you can add the Sleep Control. Click Settings or Back to save your addition and exit the settings.

You have just added the Power Saver checkbox to the Control Center so you can always have the Battery Saver feature at hand. If you run out of juice, drag the Control Center up (Touch ID models) or down (Face ID models) from the top or bottom of the screen. Tap the control with the battery icon and it’s on. You can do this from apps, the home screen, or the lock screen so it’s very convenient.

To turn it off again, you can do the same thing or wait for the battery to be 80 percent charged. In this case it switches off automatically.

If the control in the Control Center is too low, you can go back to the Control Center Settings and rearrange them using the three line icons next to each one. Bring it higher for easy access. If you have a lot of active controls, unless you move it, you may need to swipe up on the Control Center to find the battery icon.

In true Apple fashion, this Control Center trick is nowhere near the only way to enable or disable power saving mode. You may want to familiarize yourself with all of the other options, as toggling the power saving mode is an excellent way to speed up your iPhone.
