Best Shower Heads for Kids – Review Geek

A kid-friendly showerhead can be less intimidating and fun for your child's transition from bath to shower! They are lower than conventional showerheads, have lower water pressure and a fun, festive design.

The biggest benefit of these showerheads over traditional showerheads is that they lower the water to the size of your child and allow them to get in and out of the stream. Children who do not like to keep their heads and faces under running water feel better with a lower shower. Our picks are also characterized by a slower flow for a softer shower.

There is no hard and fast rule for switching to showers from bathrooms. For children who are sensitive to water, forcing them to change before they are ready has no benefits and can backfire. Parents can follow their children's instructions and wait until they show interest in showering, which usually happens between the ages of 5 and 7 years. Make sure you have a non-slip mat and monitor it while setting up a shower routine.

Some of these are intended to replace the normal shower head, while others may differ from an existing shower head and allow for changeover. If you share a bathroom with your child, you should choose one that uses the normal shower head or one that you can use yourself.

Best suited for most people: Kaiying Children's Hand Shower Head

Kaiying Frog Shower Head and Hose.

With five different species, your child can choose which "Big Kid" shower they want. The Kaiying works like a handheld sprayer and is available with different features as needed. If you want to keep your existing shower head, you can use a hose and a diverter.

If your children have their own shower, you can choose the shower head and hose as a replacement for a regular shower head. The Kaiying tube is long (59 inches), so it can be attached quite low to the shower wall with the suction cup foot.

If you already have a handheld shower attachment, you can really save money and easily procure the showerhead and shower tray.

Best for older children: Waterpik Safari Spray

The Waterpik Safari Spray Elephant Shower Head.

The Waterpik Safari Spray replaces your current shower head, but thanks to its adjustable neck (er, boot) you can bring it back to adult height. However, the Waterpik is only 18 inches down, so it may not be so helpful for a child making the leap from the bath to the shower.

One feature of this waterpik is that the others do not have multiple spray settings. You can set the safari spray to Rainforest Mist, Tropical Rain, or both.

Best Choice for the Budget: Ginsey Industries – My Own Shower

Ginsey Industries - My Own Shower Shower head, hose and diverter for fish.

The My Own Shower by Ginsey Industries uses a diverter and a detachable 3-foot hose that turns out when you want to use the regular shower head. The cartoon fish head is attached to the wall with a suction cup, so you need a completely smooth surface. Textured tiles that look like stones do not work with the suction cup.

The shower head will not fit if it sticks to the wall. The lower power means that the flow is less, which can help children who are worried about showers.

Best Single Holder: BOPai Vacuum Suction Cup Shower Head Holder

BOPai Vacuum Suction Cup Shower Head Holder [19659004] If you already have a hand shower, you only need an extra bracket of the right height to fit a full size shower to create. There are dozens of options for easy installation. The BOPai has a good track record and is easy to set up. The mount uses a suction cup that can hold up to 7.5lbs.

As we've seen with the Ginsey Industries pimple, a sucker needs a smooth surface to get a strong grip. However, BOPai contains a glue disc and says that you can use it in conjunction with the holder to adhere to a textured surface. You should make sure that your showerhead handle fits the 3/4-inch diameter of the BOPai.

Too good not to include it: Oxygenics Darth Vader hand shower head

  Oxygenics Darth Vader shower head

This is not a shower head for the faint of heart. The sight of water streaming out of Darth Vader's eyes or mouth (there are three spray settings) is likely to appeal only to the most passionate Star Wars fans. A Darth shower could provide an incentive for children who would otherwise be reluctant to stay under a normal height shower.

A diverter is not included, so it replaces your current shower head. However, this could not be a problem as the novelty hides a solid product. With a comfort regulator you can adjust the water pressure, and the hose has a generous length of six feet.

Finally, it offers all the fathers the perfect setup to unleash the impression of "I am your father."
