Among the Apple products there is a product that sets new standards time and again: the iPad. Apple's tablet offering is getting bigger and more confusing from year to year, but there's good news for every potential iPad buyer in this Black Friday . All options are amazing, and iPad discounts are many . It's just a question of how much you want to pay.
Unlike last year, Apple has not released a new version of the iPad Pro Top Class . But the recent 10.2-inch budget iPad is better than ever. Or should you get the Mini ? Or the iPad Air ?
We dive in. (Incidentally, here is the proper etiquette for the purchase of technical gifts in general and here is what to consider when buying smart home gifts .)
iPad 10.2 inches (2019): The best for most
The 10.2-inch model is CNET's choice for editors for one reason: even though it's an older A10 Processor, it works flawlessly well with the latest iPadOS, has a slightly larger screen, supports the Apple Pencil and now works with Apple's older Smart Connector keyboard accessory. It is already on sale. However, I would consider the 128GB model as the 32GB model, especially if you plan to download movies. The ideal size that I would have recommended would have been 64 GB … which of course Apple does not sell.
There are several sales for this model and probably more. Amazon offers about $ 49 discount on both sizes of iPad and another $ 30 without shipping, either $ 280 or $ 250 for the 32GB version. (However, I would recommend the 128GB version.)
Best Buy offers the iPad for $ 250, but you must sign up for a free membership of the Best Buy rewards program.
iPad (2018): Almost the same as a 10.2-inch iPad
You could save even more by purchasing the entry-level iPad last year's model, the same A10 processor (and also Apple Pencil supported). Amazon sells the 128GB LTE version for $ 429 ($ 130 off). This is the cheapest way for an LTE iPad. Do you really need LTE? (I would say no.)
iPad Air (2019): Increase the Default
The difference between the entry-level 10.2-inch iPad and the iPad Air released this year is basically one better A12 processor and a slightly better larger screen (10.5 inches). It is also a bit thinner. Anyone who wants a bit more graphics for photo or video work might consider this a way to split the difference between the iPad and the iPad Pro. At B & H electronics, you get a discount of $ 469 and $ 30.
The iPad Pro 2017 is similar to the iPad Air 2019 with a few extras.
Save yourself a headache and notice that the 2019 10.5-inch iPad Air is a slightly cheaper version of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro from 2017 . The 2017 Pro features a 120Hz screen with faster scrolling, better quad speakers, and slightly different cameras. If you can somehow get it for less than the air above, it's worth it! The 2017 iPad Pro's are being offered for sale below but at a higher cost than the iPad Air.
