To celebrate the game's 15th anniversary and re-release it as World of Warcraft Classic, game publisher Blizzard has hired Snapchat to combine legacy technology with new interactive AR lenses.
AR carousel in the Snapchat app for iOS and Android in the US On Wednesday, the advertising lens will give users the ability to turn their appearance into two classic characters from the game.
You can tap or swipe on the screen Choose between the two and the right fa you can trigger an animation – either a festive toast from Met or a re-creation of the classic meme by Leroy Jenkins. Users can also unlock the lens using the snapcode embedded below.
Another lens is available through outdoor advertising for the game. Using Snapchat's marker technology, users can summon up the villain Ragnaros, who appears in the ad.
For those who do not encounter the ad in the wild, the following picture is sufficient. Once the experience is unlocked, users can share it with a friend by holding up the image target displayed in the camera view.
Snapchat's image capture trigger has become popular with advertisers as Snapchat's 3D effects can be combined with traditional 2D advertising. NBA, Doggy Style Records, Snap Originals and HBO are among the brands that use the technology to turn billboards, banners and posters into stunning experiences.
In addition to the growing range of landmark destinations that can become famous, Snapchat is ready to cover the outside world in AR advertising as well.
