Bose restores Sleepbuds for noise cancellation after discovering battery issues that can not be resolved. Anyone who has purchased the $ 249 Sleepbuds will be entitled to a full refund if the device is returned by December 31
Sleepbuds were launched in June 2018 to help carriers improve the quality of their sleep by blocking external noise. The wireless earphones were snug and could not stream music, but they could be preloaded with "soothing sounds" to help drown ambient sounds. When it was time to wake up, the buds had a built-in alarm.
Although the product was well received by thousands of Indiegogo supporters, customers have reported issues where the battery could not be fully charged, and the device is not working, it will turn off unexpectedly – or both. Bose hoped to fix the software and firmware update issues, but this proved unsuccessful. After more careful testing of the hardware, Bose found that the battery he chose for sleepbuds simply did not work as "consistent or predictable" as he should.
Sleepbuds have been discontinued just over a year since their introduction. As mentioned earlier, people who bought Sleepbuds can get a full refund if the product is returned by December 31st. However, if you prefer to keep your sleepbuds, you can stick to them, and if problems arise Bose will take care of things through his warranty program.
Bose notes that the current version of Sleepbuds may not have worked well, but the company is returning to the drawing board and continues to promote the development of a version of sleepbuds that will stand up to the quality standards of the Bose brand.
"We are sorry to have disappointed you, and we are sorry that we are not communicating more clearly along this path. We had good intentions, but it is not enough if that makes no difference to you, "the company wrote in its announcement. "We are ready to hear from you and we stay here as long as necessary."
