CNN host Don Lemon praised Joe Biden for the Democratic candidate’s speech condemning the riots and insisted that he was “hot on the heels” of President Trump.
Lemon directly asked Biden last week to address the issue. Kenosha, Wisconsin, suffered violence at the time following the shooting of Jacob Blake on his third night of violence.
“He has to come out to talk about it. He has to give a speech like Barack Obama did about the race,” Lemon said. “The riots need to stop … they show up in the polls; they show up in focus groups; it’s the only thing that’s going on right now.”
Biden on Monday condemned violence in cities across the country, which was widely praised by CNN Tonight anchor.
KAYLEIGH MCENANY calls out CNN̵
“You’re going to hear a lot of lies from the president this week and you’re going to move forward … so I want to start this show tonight with the truth. And that’s the truth of what Joe Biden says about violence and riot. Not the lies, but we’ll start with the truth, “Lemon began before playing a clip of the Democratic candidate condemning the violence. “Do we really need to hear more lies from the president? No. The Americans need to hear that, the truth. We need to hear our leaders denounce the violence on our streets. Denounce them. We need to hear them tell us.” The truth that riots divide instead of unite. But this president cannot say that. He cannot denounce the violence. He just can’t. He cannot admit that instead of uniting it is dividing. Election day is only 63 days away. He is desperate and he urgently needs to change the subject. “
Lemon insisted that Trump “cannot walk on his file,” despite claims made in the “propaganda videos and speeches” alleged during the Republican National Convention last week, citing the six million coronavirus cases and the over 180,000 Deaths from the outbreak.

He went on knocking on the president, who beat up Biden during his press conference for not explicitly denouncing Antifa or “the far left”.
“Joe Biden put him on his heels today,” said Lemon happily.
Lemon accused Trump of trying to “scare” Americans into voting for him in November, downplaying the riots as “a few city blocks”, not “the whole city”.
