Do you remember Photo Booth on Mac and iOS? It still exists, but there was a time when every used it. And why not? It was so cool to take pictures with all imaginable backgrounds. Under water? Check. On the moon? Of course. Now, Instagram wants to bring the fun back by introducing AR storylines.
Before you start the story camera in your Instagram app and pretend to be on the beach, you should know that this feature is not live yet. In fact, we do not know when to expect it. Instagram did not announce it as an upcoming feature. So how do we know it's on the way? Jane Manchun Wong Twitter shows two screenshots of the AR background selection in action. In the first one, we can see what a normal camera roll feed looks like, except with the "Background" option at the top of the display. In the next screenshot, we see that Wong has selected a picture as the background and can now use the story camera as usual.
