Does your activity page feel overloaded on Instagram? You're not alone. Instagram summarizes all the warnings in a long, chaotic timeline. So, if you want to see comments or likes, you'll have to sort everything out, including other users' shares, reminders, recommendations, and new episodes. Instagram knows it's a mess, and the company plans to add notification filters to resolve the issues.
The feature is not disabled yet. So, when you tap the heart icon to open the Activity page, the "You" tab will still look like a messy mish-mash of different notification types. Maybe the feature will be released in weeks or months. But we know that Instagram at least tests it with information discovered by Jane Manchun Wong a feature finder who delves into the code to find updates in progress. This notification filter happens to be one of these in-test functions.
Wong's findings indicate that a new options menu is added to the "Activity" tab on the "You" tab above. It is assumed that "All notifications" is the default. If you tap on "All notifications", you have several filters to choose from. The screenshots of Wong (see below) currently display only the "All notifications" and "Comments" filters. But we can imagine Instagram adding more filters for reminders, referrals, new followers, and more in the future.
That's all we currently know about the feature. Of course, we will update our article as soon as more details about Instagram's activity filters become available. So check out the latest information on controlling the Activity tab and watch out for all the other features that will soon be available to Miss
