Sometimes a comment appears on Instagram that you really need to share . Maybe it's something funny, maybe offensive. Whatever the case may be, the only thing to do is taking a screenshot of it and sharing it, right? Hopefully not for long. Instagram is currently testing a feature that lets you share comments through a direct message and possibly even stories and other apps.
The keyword is testing . Instagram did not announce the introduction of a comment sharing feature, and even if it did, it is still difficult at this time. Jane Manchun Wong who looks at the code for apps to find new features, discovered sharing comments and basics in a recent app expedition.
As seen in Wong's tweet, Instagram could share a button next to comments. When you tap it, a typical sharing menu will appear with apps, actions, and a list of friends for DM. However, Wong states that the only functionality in Instagram's testing so far is Instagram Direct. If you tap the Story option or another app that you want to share the comment with, just share the entire post instead.
When you share a comment with Direct for a friend, it appears in a gray box. Above is a caption that explains the context of the comment. In the middle you see a thumbnail for the post as well as the comment itself.
Although we have no idea when Instagram plans to share or even introduce comments in the beta app, we will continue monitor the status of the item and update it with all the news and developments by Jake Peterson / Gadget Hacks
