Trump attacks Fauci’s leadership again as coronavirus infections tick up

7;s foremost infectious disease specialist, broke out again in an ugly public argument this week as U.S. coronavirus cases lagged over 50,000 a day for three weeks in a campaign dominated by the nation Government response to the pandemic.
Trump responded Tuesday to Fauci’s warnings that the president’s decision to resume campaign events this week was “very problematic” by mocking him in a tweet that inconveniently his medical guidance with his flawed ceremonial first pitch at a game the Washington Nationals in July.
“In fact, Tony’s pitching arm is far more accurate than his predictions,” wrote Trump, falsely suggesting that Fauci’s advice in the early days of the pandemic that the public should not wear masks meant the doctor was downplaying the novel coronavirus.
