If you do not want the large and approval-hungry Facebook app to appear on your phone, it's best to create an app icon for the mobile Facebook web site on your home screen. By default, the website version of Facebook does not perform background tasks, has no distracting notifications, you do not share so much data with Facebook, and your phone's battery life is improved.
To take advantage of Facebook If you do not track that much or use your device's battery and resources, you'll need to remove the Facebook app. If you have personally installed the Facebook app, just uninstall it. If the Facebook app was preinstalled as bloatware on your device, you can follow the instructions below to remove a pre-installed version of Facebook from your device.
Adding the Facebook Site to Your Home Screen
First, I'll mention that this requires Google Chrome. First sign in to the Chrome app on Facebook. When you are on the main page, press the three-dot menu button in the top right corner and select "Add to Home Screen".
Here you will be named a pop-up in which you can change the new link. By default, "Facebook" is set, which you can change, but you can not change the icon. Click the "Add" button to add the bookmark to your home screen. After doing this, the Facebook web app will be on your home screen.
The Facebook Chrome bookmark has a Facebook icon and looks like an app, but does not appear in the app drawer, it's only available on your home screen. Each time you open the Facebook bookmark, Google Chrome opens with the same Facebook tab, and no new tab opens.
When you use the Facebook website, you may occasionally be asked to sign in again. I have to register after three weeks. Depending on your Google Chrome settings, you may receive notifications from Facebook. If you want to change your Google Chrome notification settings, click here.
