Disney relies on its 2019 streaming service called Disney Plus.
Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, has named the streaming service for 2019 as the company's "highest priority". In the same year, Disney closed the acquisition of 21st Century Fox with 71.3 billion US dollars
Meanwhile, Disneycan now launch its own subscription platform as the exclusive streaming home for Disney movies, TV shows, and other original programs. For example, will leave Netflix in April to re-emerge with a new season at Disney Plus.
Much of the original Disney Plus programming is based on the company's franchise companies, such as Marvel and Star Wars. And it's the only place where the company's new films can be streamed in theaters after its premiere, beginning with Captain Marvel. Not only that, Iger had announced in March that the service will house the entire "safe" of Disney "pretty soon" after launch.
If you feel a monthly fee fatigue, I'm sorry, but that's the direction the entertainment business is going. Netflix offers original shows and movies almost every day. CBS pumps its CBS All Access service with Star Trek shows and other original programs. (Note: CBS is the parent company of CNET.)HBO Owner and build all their own streaming services. Even DC Entertainment now has its with shows, films and comics.
And then there is Hulu, which is controlled by Disney
So is the Disney Plus Streaming Service of 2019 worth anything to pay for it? The details we know so far are below, but essentially: If you love Star Wars or Marvel movies, you may want to consider another subscription before the year ends.
What is the Disney streaming service?
The Disney Plus streaming service is a competitor to video streaming services such as Netflix. The company even hires Netflix employees: Disney appointed former Netflix executive Tehmina Jaffer as Senior Vice President of Disney Plus in March. She said she would coordinate all the Disney groups creating the original content exclusively for the service.
Customers can subscribe to an unannounced monthly fee to access Disney television, movies, and other content.
Disney's other streaming services – Hulu and ESPN Plus for Athletes – run on the same technology platform so you can subscribe to them with the same password and credit card information. But Disney plans for all three individual subscriptions.
ESPN Plus is clearly focused on the sport. It is expected that Hulu will continue to stream content from three of the broadcast networks and its own original series, such as The Handmaid's Tale and Castle Rock. Hulu will also be where Disney's more adult-focused fare shines. A new Marvel collection of adult animated series will be broadcast there, and probably Deadpool-like content will now live as Disney owns Fox.
Disney Plus is said to cover Disney's entire family-friendly offer. It will contain content from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm (ie: Star Wars), Pixar and National Geographic.
When is the release date?
You're waiting for that even longer than Avengers: Endgame. Disney says it will be shot for a release in late 2019.
The company is expected to release many details about Disney Plus on April 11th. Then there will be an investor meeting detailing all of his streaming plans, including a "first" look at Disney Plus and some of the programs it produces.
How much is it?
Disney has not yet announced prices for the streaming service,.
Iger said in November 2017 that his company's service price will reflect "the fact that it will have significantly less volume", but intends to balance it with high quality programs from across the entertainment empire. More than a year later, Iger said the companywhat matters.
How does this affect Netflix from Disney?
Disney will largely disappear from Netflix at the end of 2019.
Since 2016, Netflix has been the firstwith a subscription. This deal meant that Netflix was the place for the biggest blockbusters in the US in the last three years. The two best films of 2017 and the three best films of 2016 and 2018 were all from Disney, and Netflix was the place they were all excited about.
Butwhen it planned its own rival. Starting with Disney's 2019 films, all of these films are for Disney Plus. The first movie released by Disney in 2019 will be the first movie Netflix misses. It also means that should be the last Disney movie to have a kind of release window on Netflix.
However, Netflix's Marvel Defenders shows are complicated. Netflix, in collaboration with Disney, has released five original series based on Defender characters. In 2018, Netflix lifted three of them: Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. In 2019: The Punisher and Jessica Jones. Kevin Mayer, Disney Plus Disney Plus Manager, said Disney Plus could possibly revive the canceled shows. But the terms of their original deal could limit Disney Plus from all renewal by 2020 according to a report.
A third and now final season of Jessica Jones will arrive at Netflix sometime in 2019. But after that we only know that Marvel Television boss Jeph Loeb is making the fans of these fans curious in any form. But the only thing that is certain about this form is not Netflix.
Shows and Movies: What can I see?
Disney Plus includes content owned by Disney itself, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic. In fact, the app of the service is organized into exactly these categories. In general, Disney plans to make Disney Plus the general purpose for its family-friendly content, while Hulu, which controls Disney after acquiring 21st Century Fox, will be subscribing to edgier, more adult-focused food.
Disney Plus will be the only place where you can stream all of Disney's theatrically released films, starting with Captain Marvel and the rest of 2019. According to Iger, the "entire Disney movie library," including all of them, will be housed there classic animated films in what the company calls the Disney vault. And, of course, the company is developing a range of original, exclusive shows and films for service.
The original exclusive includes a Star Wars prequel series based onstarring Diego Luna, who played Cassian Andor in the original film. Disney also confirmed that the service focusing on Loki, a character from the Avengers, in which Tom Hiddleston will play the role again.
Disney Plus will also have original documentaries behind the scenes. The company has also started making offers for original programs that have not yet fallen into one of the established brands. In January, Disney Plus ordered a 10-series series titled "Diary of a Female President." The show follows a 12-year-old Cuban-American girl and the ups and downs of her middle school life on her way to becoming the US Commander in Chief.
From the extensive library of Disney's last catalog, Disney Plus is supposed to offer "thousands of hours" of content, but we're not sure yet what could be ruled out.
Although all Disney films are exclusively based on Disney Plus, the company does not plan to feature one of its major movies in service. Unlike Netflix's so-called day-and-date approach, in which most films appear simultaneously on big screens and streaming services, Disney is planning its Tentpole films as seen in the Star Wars franchise. to appear in the cinemas before they are made available with a digital subscription.
We know the service will include shows and films such as:
- new season (exclusive to this service).

- Star Wars Films, beginning with 2019 .
