The last thing you need before an important meeting is a clothing disaster. To check the hotel's iron on site before it ruins your clothes, follow these steps.
If something goes wrong with ironing, it usually goes awry in a spectacular way, and you get an iron-shaped brand of molten plastic on the back of your device shirt.
Hotel iron, however, has an extra variable: all the people who stayed in front of you and used and abused the iron in their own way.
To avoid surprises, such as an iron full of moldy water, hard water, or something worse, iron a hotel towel first.
First, drain old, stale water from the iron and then refresh the reservoir with clean water. Heat up the iron, put it on cotton and then iron the towel while pressing the steam button.
If the towel is not covered with water and does not smell like the bottom of a locker in the gym, then it's ready for your business attire. If it does not look great, you've just spared the ironing-on of Funky Gunk on the shirt you are wearing this afternoon.
