Are you ready to take the latest Android OS for a spin? How to secure your device and download the update.
Android 10, formerly code-named Android Q, is now available in Google's Pixel phones and Essentials range. Owners of OnePlus 7 or 7 Pro can also take advantage of an open beta to gain early access. For everyone else, it will take weeks and months for Google's newest mobile operating system to be available across the entire fragmented landscape of Android devices.
If you prefer not to wait, check if your device is eligible to download the beta version. If you have a Pixel device, you can download the update as follows.
Getting Started: Back Up Your Device
Before you upgrade to Android 1
Save all data now to avoid a later catastrophe.
We used a pixel device that might work slightly differently depending on the phone. Navigate to Settings> System> Advanced> Backup and make sure the "Back up to Google Drive" feature is turned on.
Select which items you want to back up – app data, call history, contacts, device settings, and text messages: Then tap Back up now to save your data in the cloud. Now that Android 10 is running and you need to reset your phone, all important data is preserved.
To download the update to your Pixel or other Android phone, go to Settings> System> Advanced> System Updates to manually check whether updates are available. When the update arrives, tap the message and start the download. It takes a few minutes to download the beta completely.
That was & # 39; s! Once the download and installation are complete, restart your phone to play around with Android 10. For an overview of the new features, see our list of 10 cool features to try in Android 10.
