Editing or removing data in a PowerPoint graph

  PowerPoint logo

Data trends change over time. Therefore, you may need to edit or remove data in a chart in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to reflect these changes. This is a relatively simple process. This is how it works:

Editing and Removing Data from a PowerPoint Chart

Open PowerPoint and navigate to the slide that contains the chart or graph. Select the diagram there.

  Select Chart

Now right-click on the chart. Select the "Edit data" command in the context menu that appears.

  Edit data

A small table is displayed. Here you can select the cell that contains the data you want to edit and then enter the new value you want into your chart.

Replace values in a table cell

The graphic is adjusted accordingly. If you want to completely remove data from the chart, select the row containing the data, right-click the row header, and then choose the Delete command from the context menu.

  Delete Data

The data is then deleted from the chart.
