Embedding an information podcast in PowerPoint can be an invaluable enhancement to a presentation. To add podcasts from your computer or the Internet to your slideshow.
Embedding podcasts downloaded from your computer
When you think of podcasts, you may be thinking of an audio presentation stored on the Internet. However, podcasts are just audio files. When the show is downloaded to your computer, the process is as easy as uploading music to PowerPoint.
Note: If you do not have the podcast's audio file, you can proceed to the next section, where we'll show you how to embed a podcast that you find on the web.

Open PowerPoint and navigate to the desired slide to embed the podcast. Next, select the Insert tab and click Audio in the Media group. A drop-down menu will be displayed. Select "Audio on my PC" here.
The Insert Audio window appears. Navigate to the podcast location, select the audio file, and then choose Paste.
The slide now displays a bullhorn icon indicating that the podcast was successfully embedded in your PowerPoint presentation.
Keep in mind that podcasts can be quite tedious because of their nature. Be sure to use some of the useful PowerPoint tools, such as: For example, you can use the Trim Audio tool to set the start and end time of an audio file.
Embedding Podcasts from the Web Using an Add-In
Another way to embed a podcast when you do not have the podcast's audio file is to use the LiveSlides add-in. With LiveSlides you can embed content from the web directly into your presentation.
To download the LiveSlides add-in, you must access the official website. There, click the "Download Free LiveSlides Add-in" button at the top of the page.
Download the add-in. When the download is complete, open the application. The LiveSlides Setup window appears. Read the welcome information and click "Install".
When finished, PowerPoint displays a new LiveSlides tab.
 Before we move on, we need to navigate to the web page that contains the podcast. This example uses Tech ONTAP's podcast on SoundCloud.

If your podcast is not on SoundCloud, you will copy the URL of the page that contains the podcast and paste it into the field mentioned in the later steps. If you're using a podcast in SoundCloud, select the Share button that appears below the podcast name.
A pop-up window is displayed. Copy the URL (1) at the bottom of this window. If you want to start the podcast at a specific time, check the check box (2) next to "To" and enter the start time.
In PowerPoint, click the LiveSlides tab, and then select the Live Slide button in the Insert group.
 The Insert Web page dialog box appears. Paste the URL in the field and choose "Paste".
At the end of your presentation, a LiveSlides boilerplate slide appears.
In the Normal view, you only see this Boiler Plate slide. However, in the Slideshow view, the podcast home page will be displayed directly in your presentation. The podcast plays automatically when the slide is displayed.
