Microsoft is rapidly expanding its full suite of apps to dark mode. Microsoft To Do is the latest application that receives this treatment and it looks great. Now you can check off items from your to-do list without straining your eyes or extending battery life.
Some important apps still do not have a dark mode. With the new system-wide dark designs in iOS 13 and Android 10 you still get a few apps with a dazzling white background. For this reason, it is important to jump into the settings of an app and activate the dark mode as soon as it is added. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable Dark Mode
Open the Microsoft To Do app ( Android | iOS). Touch your initials (or your profile picture) in the circular icon in the upper left corner, and then choose Settings if you're using Android. Then select "Theme" and the option "Dark Theme".
Note: This feature is currently not available in the iOS version of Microsoft To Do. We expect it to be added very soon, so watch out for the update. We will update this guide as soon as the feature is available.
Step 2: Explore the Dark Mode
Now the app is in Dark Mode. There will be a dark background and the text will have a lighter color. When you explore the app, you will generally notice a darker tone that is gentle on the eyes while consuming less battery power for phones with OLED screens.
