Motorola is a shell of his former self. In 2010, it had just released the Motorola Droid, a cell phone that was so popular that all Android phones were called "droid" by non-technicians. But there are some tough years between then and now, and Motorola's latest flagship does not seem to be putting it off.
The Motorola Z4 looks like a phone company of a flagging company. In an effort to fulfill their three-year promise to support Moto Mods, they are in an outdated design. Since none of the phones have sold well, Lenovo (Moto's new parent after buying, clearing and selling through Google) appears to be keeping costs as low as possible. The result is a mediocre performance in what is probably Motorola's best offer this year, apart from a potential new Motorola RAZR.

The Moto Z4 may be Lenovo's latest smartphone to support Moto-Mods. This year marks the last of the three years that Lenovo has promised to support the Moto Mods. And as you can see on the Z4, that promise was not good for the once dominant OEM.
The Moto Z4 is a phone that has a medium-range SoC (Qualcomm Snapdragon 675) and a large 6.4-inch OLED display and a device that has a single rear view camera and a single 6.2 megapixel -Selfie camera, both using quad-pixel technology. The device has a 3,600 mAh battery that can be quickly charged via the included 1
The Moto Z4 was announced on May 30, 2019, just days after, announcements begin same day with the shipping by phone to customers from June 6th.
- Release Date: June 6, 2019
- Pre-Order Date: May 30, 2019 Announced: May 30, 2019
For customers who have it directly through Amazon, Best Buy and B & H Buy Photo, the price of the Moto Z4 is 499.99 USD. Here you buy the activated GSM version, which makes it possible to work on AT & T and T-Mobile. At these locations, it is bundled for free with the Moto 360 camera.
However, for new Verizon customers opening a new line, there is an incredible offer for you if you want this phone. You can buy the Moto Z4 for 24 months for $ 10 a month. This effectively costs the phone $ 240, less than half the retail price. And for those upgrading an existing line, you'll get up to $ 200 off the Moto Z4 without the need for a trade-in.
- Price: $ 240 (Verizon Deal), $ 499.99
The Moto Z4 is fitted with a 6000 Series aluminum frame. It will use Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the display and back cover. On the back you will find the same set of pens and a circular housing for the reversing camera, so that the Moto-Mods can be conveniently fastened.
The Moto Z4 is available in two colors: light gray and frost white. Frame: Aluminum, with Gorilla Glass 3 (front and back)
Since Moto Mods must be supported, the dimensions of the Moto Z4 are very similar to those of its predecessor. Once again Lenovo has decided not to waterproof the phone. Instead, the water resistance is limited to P2i, which protects the phone against splashing water. This means that it should work well with a little rain, but not when it falls into your toilet. Although it is only officially supported by Verizon, it works on all four major wireless carriers in the US.

Software On moto Z4 will run the latest version of Android 9 Pie. With Android 9 Pie, you get 40 new features and changes through including several security and privacy enhancements. Android 9 Pie also includes the new gesture controls that are contentious, speeding up navigation, and allowing you to better utilize the large display that does not need to accommodate the large navigation bar at the bottom.
The Moto Z4 will perform the light skin that has no name. It's the same skin that Motorola has been integrating into their cell phones for years, leaving most of Android's design language intact. Motorola chooses to add features instead. These features include fast movement, support for Amazon Alexa (with Moto Mod), compatibility with all Moto mods and compatibility with Stylus via the Microsoft Active Pen protocol. With the exception of ZTE's ZenUI 6 and Oxygen OS, this is probably the closest skin to Android.
The true value of the Moto Z4 is its display. The Z4 has a 6.4-inch Max-Vision OLED panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Normally, OLED is not available at this price, which means that you will encounter inferior image quality with an LCD screen , A notch is used, but the water droplet design barely obstructs the display.

Performance The engine of the Moto Z4 is the 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 675. The 8-core CPU uses Kyro 460 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. It uses the X12 LTE modem, the Cat. 12 for download (600 Mbps) and Cat. 13 for uploads (150 Mbps). The memory of the Z4 is 4 or 6 GB. In its base model, Google Pixel 3a should have a similar experience coupling a similar SoC with the same amount of RAM, but we would recommend choosing the higher RAM.
The strange thing is the GPU. Normally the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 comes with the Adreno 612 GPU. However, the Moto Z4 comes with Adreno 608. I'm not sure why they opt for a less powerful GPU (or if this was a typo).
- RAM: 4 GB RAM
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 675
- Chip Size: 11 nanometer
- CPU Frequency: 2.0 GHz × 4 (1 , 71 GHz × 4)
- CPU cores: 8
- GPU: Adreno 608
The Moto Z4 has a 3,600 mAh battery. Such a large battery with a 1080p display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC 600 Series should impress the battery life of this device. It supports Motorola's TurboPower for fast wired charging. And thanks to the Moto-Mods you can charge a mobile phone wirelessly, without the function is already included.
- Battery: Rechargeable Li-ion Battery
- Capacity: 3,600 mAh, 3.85 volts (13.86 watt-hours)
- Wired Charger: Yes, 15 W TurboPower Wireless Download: Yes, with Moto Mod
The Moto Z4 has a 25 MP front camera facing it. However, quad-pixel technology is used, combining data collected from four adjacent pixels into a single one to reduce noise and artifacts. This results in photos that are 1/4 of the megapixel number. As a result, the pictures taken with the camera have a resolution of 6.2 MP.
You may be able to disable this feature with a third-party camera app and shoot 25 MP photos instead. However, you must know that low-light performance suffers. 6.2 MP already has a resolution of almost 4K (8.2 MP), so you probably will not notice any sharpness, no matter which screen you look at. However, you could crop the images a bit more digitally without going below the resolution of 1080p (2.1 MP).

The reversing camera combines four pixels into one for better detail and image quality to improve the performance in low light conditions. The rear-view camera is equipped with a single 48-MP lens, which uses this technology to output 12-MP images. There is a night vision mode in which the phone 8 superimposes separate images with different exposure and uses for noise reduction for an improved detail shot.
