Movies Anywhere is also supported by most major studios – namely Disney, Universal, Sony, Fox and Warner Bros. Films produced by these studios are displayed in the Movies Anywhere app, no matter where you place them originally bought. In addition, these movies should appear in any of the services through which you have connected your accounts.
Just to give a real example: If you purchased Black Panther – a Marvel Studios (Disney) movie – on iTunes If you've linked your accounts through Movies Anywhere, the same movie will be in addition to the Movies Anywhere app itself be available in the apps of Vudu, Google Play and Amazon on your devices. - Google Play Movies and TV

Which movie studios are on board?
- Sony Pictures
- Twentieth Century Fox
- Warner Bros.
Movies Anywhere has some great studios on board, but not all. Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM / UA are the biggest holdouts. This means that there is no cross-platform sponsor, Indiana Jones, Katniss Everdeen or James Bond of the old school. You may also not see independent movies supported. However, Movies Anywhere is designed as an open platform, so any studio that is not currently on board can theoretically join later as soon as the licensing details have been wiped out.
Can I buy directly from Movies Anywhere?
No. Movies Anywhere is essentially a frontend to your movie library. When you see a movie you want to buy in the Movies Anywhere service, clicking the buy option displays a pop-up that shows you which video providers are available.
However, no pricing information is displayed, and the pop-up window does not indicate if a 4K version is available for any of the services. You have to click through to see which one is best for you.

Can I really watch movies I've now bought through iTunes on an Android or Roku device?
As long as the movie is one of the participating studios, the answer is a definite "yes" – we did it. The beauty of Movies Anywhere is that you never have to use the Movies Anywhere app after setting up your account. For example, Xbox and PlayStation users can access all Movies Anywhere-compatible movies in the Vudu or Amazon apps on these consoles, even if they were originally purchased on iTunes. And you can also view many of your Amazon purchases in iTunes.

It is similar to the multivendor streaming servicebut it is easier to use. And since Vudu was already in the UltraViolet family, any previous or future disc-based movies you have with digital UltraViolet codes will be folded into Movies Anywhere (if they come from one of the participating studios).
In factin large part because Movies Anywhere does the same, but better.
Are there problems or problems?
So far, Movies Anywhere has been largely a largely flawless experience for most CNET employees who have tried it. This is probably evidence that Disney Movies Anywhere's underlying infrastructure has already been tested. However, at least one person has encountered two issues: five eligible movies have been included in every supported service except Google Play, and one movie – Argo – originally purchased through Amazon has not evolved for the other services, though it is a Warner movie.
What else should I know
- Like any "free" service, Movies Anywhere – and the supporting streaming services – gather data based on your usage and viewing habits. Follow the end user license agreements and permissions when signing in and setting up accounts.
- Movies Anywhere syncs between your Movies Anywhere apps. So, if you do not watch Roku all at once, you can pick up your Galaxy Note 8 ($ 639 on Amazon) or your iPad.
- It takes about an hour to several hours for movies to spread between services. Be patient, especially during the initial setup.
