French fries and dip are a party readiness, but sometimes they are not enough. That does not mean that we want to linger over a hot stove during the party. Learn how to create a five-star finger food feast without an oven.

Whether it's an engagement party or a Christmas party, sometimes food of higher caliber is needed. Slow Cooker Cocktail Weenies and potato chips fresh from the bag are not enough.

That does not mean that it has to be complicated. Beautiful snacks, such as you would expect at a wedding on a silver platter, can be easy. We've put together a list of five appetizers that are richly decorated, but so simple that you do not have to turn on an oven. It is not better. We dive.

Baby Peppers Stuffed with Herb and Goat Cheeses

Baby peppers are available in most grocery stores today, and we could not be happier about that. These peppers are the perfect container for goat cheese, though cream cheese would work as well. Add a few fresh herbs and these little guys disappear faster than a slushie in a heatwave.

Here's how we did it:

To make 1

6 stuffed peppers, cut eight baby peppers in half length. In a bowl, mix half a cup of goat cheese, a tablespoon of chopped basil and two teaspoons of honey. Fill the peppers with the cheese mixture and serve!

Mediterranean Crostinis

Crostinis are the ultimate foods that sound fancy but come together quickly. The most difficult thing about them is the congregation, but we have found that even small children can assemble them. Of course, you do not have to use Mediterranean-inspired coverings (as listed below). Use your favorite toast toppers to create an inspired party snack.

Here's how we did it:

To prepare 24 crostinis, cut a store-bought baguette into 24-1 / 4-inch rounds. Some stores are already selling sliced bruschetta rounds. Look for them to save even more time. Toast the rounds with a non-stick pan (or, if desired, in a toaster). Toasting baguette rounds will be quick, we promise, but if that's too much for you, choose a hearty cracker instead to serve it.

In a small bowl (1) large crushed avocado, (1) pitted and mix cucumber cubes, half a liter of halved cherry tomatoes and 1/3 cup of feta with salt and pepper to taste. Give the mixture to the rounds and serve with a dash of high quality balsamic vinegar.

Caprese skewers

Caprese skewers are a staple for weddings and events in the US. No question why. They are straightforward, everyone loves them and they look pretty on a plate. So of course we had to insert it here.

Here's how we did it:

You'll need (1) mozzarella pearl, (1) cherry tomato, and a small basil leaf for every spit you want. We recommend folding the basil and skewering between cheese and tomato.

Serve with a small bowl of olive oil and balsamic vinegar for immersion.

Fancy Tater Tidbits

If you've ever tasted a smoked salmon blini, that's it, but easier. Instead of preparing a small pancake for each appetizer, we layer crème fraiche and smoked salmon on a potato chip.

We know that we did not say chips, but we would argue that this is far from the traditional chips and dive an idea. We have not attended any party that did not work out well. We urge you to try it.

Here's how we did it:

For each potato chip, we added a teaspoon of creamy fraiche and a small piece of smoked salmon. To get bonus points, garnish each piece with some fresh dill.

Melon wrapped in ham

If you fancy fancy starters, you probably know them well, but we've picked them up because they're always a hit. The trick to make this unforgettable is the use of perfectly ripe and seasonal cantaloupe or honeydew. If the melon is not in season, you can wrap stuffed dates or fresh figs in goat's cheese. Wrap the melon pieces with ham, secure with a toothpick if necessary and garnish with mint if necessary. Serve cold.
