Fortnites Season 4 Week 6 challenges are ready and for the most part can be completed relatively quickly. However, one of the more difficult ones requires you to consume a legendary fish – which isn’t exactly the easiest process. There are a few steps you need to take before you can catch a legendary fish. So, if you are at a loss, this guide is sure to be helpful to you. Below we are going to show you how to get a pro fishing rod that is needed for catching, how to catch the right type of fish, and we even give you some tips and strategies to make it go more smoothly for you.
Here’s how to eat a legendary fish Fourteen days.
How do I get a pro fishing rod?
The first thing you need to do to catch a legendary fish is get your hands on a pro fishing rod. These rods spawn all over the world, but they are rare. We were lucky enough to find pro fishing rods at Craggy Cliffs. So you should stop by as soon as the match starts hunting. To find a pro fishing rod, look into the barrels in this area and with a bit of luck you might find one that has what you’re looking for. The barrels always produce normal fishing rods and are all located in the buildings on the Craggy Cliffs.
If you’re unlucky you won’t come across a pro fishing rod, but that’s not as bad as it seems. You can upgrade a regular fishing rod to the Pro version at the upgrade station on the north side of the Craggy Cliffs. As you search the buildings for the Pro-Angel, be sure to smash all the walls and floors to collect materials, just in case you need to use the upgrade station instead. You will need 100 pieces each of wood, stone, and metal to upgrade your fishing rod.
Whichever way you get your hands on the pro fishing rod, head to the beach to the north to start fishing.
How to catch a legendary fish
Now that you know how to get your hands on the Pro Fishing Pole, you’re ready to start fishing! You can fish in many locations on the map, but the closest is the beach at Craggy Cliffs (assuming you landed there). Stand right by the water and throw your rod into the ocean. Make sure she ends up in the groups of fish swimming nearby. With your rod in the water, wait for the sound of a splash (and the vibration of the controller) before re-wrapping your line.
Keep in mind that the legendary fish have a low drop rate and it may take a while for them to appear. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to increase the spawn rate. So stick with it until you finally catch one. Here’s a video where we’re doing the catch and very little time before the gas engulfs us.
You’ll know you’ve got the right fish when it has an orange five-star label – indicating that it is indeed legendary. We caught a thermal fish that has some interesting side effects when consumed. The final step after you’ve caught the fish is to eat it. So pick him up and eat him! Once you do, complete the challenge and get 25,000 XP.
Keep in mind that you can try this in other locations – we only prefer Craggy Cliffs as it has everything you need to take on the challenge in a compressed area. If you play regularly, you may come across a pro fishing rod. If you do, be sure to stop by the water for the challenge. Otherwise, try the steps above.
