Season 5 kicks off on Thursday, along with the standard set of new challenges for the Battle Pass, new character outfits, emotes and dances. Epic has released a series of teaser images to give us some pointers on what's coming and makes rampant speculation about what will actually change . After the of the dimensional tears spread across the map, there is a clear sign that big things are coming into play, but Epic Games still has to reveal its hand.
Epic announced on the Fortnite Reddit site a few weeks ago that the new season will begin on July 1
If the changes that went along withare signs, the new challenges and dances are just the beginning of Fortnite's updates. Previously, a meteorite hit Dusty Depot (and several other locations) and added new areas such as Lucky Landings and Dusty Divot to the map. So let's dive into what we've seen so far.
Time travel will likely be the theme of Season 5
Although we do not know exactly what's coming in Season 5, some of the events that take place in the game seem to have a lot to do with time travel. The teaser images showing a Nordic-looking ax at the top of this post and the Kitsune-looking mask underneath could mean that the cracks seen all over the Fortnite map are portals through space and space Time is.
Keen Fortnite fans have already highlighted this possibility in advance of Season 5 on Twitter and YouTube: And in the strangest turn of events, Fortnite items in the real world have become part of the Season 5 action. Players will recognize these rare loot lamas appearing in the game, which are now being shown in different countries around the world:
There's the Fortnite Burger, who disappeared from the game and then reappears in a California desert emerge. 19659020] In that case, the hype for Season 5 is actually becoming reality, but we're hours away from knowing what all this craziness means to the game itself. Historic weapons? Portals that take you from one side of the map to the other? The possibilities are endless.
Season 5 Known Changes
there will be a new Battle Pass, which is always tempting for die-hard players. You'll need to pay about $ 10 to activate a tiered reward system that will allow you to slowly unlock skins, emotes, and other items over time by completing game challenges. You could probably spend some money to get most of the same items individually at the store, but the Battle Pass has historically been a much better deal.
These skins and emotes will all be new, and it's not clear what they'll look like, but we can not wait to see what we'll be playing in the next few months.
There are also likely to be new time-limited game modes, new weapons, and other new items that will be available during Season 5. The frequent updates of the game are part of what makes people come back, no reason to believe this will change in the new season.
What about the rocket and all the cracks?
Where the real questions remain is how a recent live event will affect the game world. To see the event a few weeks ago, you had to land at a certain time on the island and go to the rocket silo.
For those who missed it when the time came, a rocket burst into the sky, only to break apart when it rose high in the air. One piece broke off and landed elsewhere on the island, but then it got really weird. As a friend and I watched, we saw a laser being shot down from the sky into the turrets, and then we all saw the rocket (or some other rocket?) Straight to the popular landing site and disappeared into a portal.
A few moments passed, then a rocket was thrown into the world, then flying around and out again, as if jumping between dimensions. Eventually, a rocket flew high into the sky and hit the "ceiling" of the world, creating huge glowing cracks and possibly dimensional cracks.
It was an amazing sight, and there was a lot of speculation, but nobody (except Epic) really knows what that means. Epic Games posted some screenshots to tease what's coming up, but they do not tell you much, except that the cracks could bring things from another time to the island.
Since the event, the Fortnite world has gradually changed. The crack in the sky has increased, and other small cracks have occurred at various points on the island. In some places, items have moved (from another dimension?):
The huge signs at both the Lonely Lodge and the motel in the northwestern part of the map were swallowed up by smaller portals in those areas.
Does this mean that these areas and others on the map will change or disappear? Nobody really knows. But that's what makes signing on Thursday a must for serious Fortnite fans and probably a reason for those who have left the game to see what it's all about. Anyway, we'll be there with you as Fortnite evolves into Season 5, so check back for the latest updates to the most popular Battle Royale game in the world.
