Fortnite: Season 6, PS4 Cross-Play and everything you need to know

In just a few months Fortnite : Battle Royale went from a successful video game to a global phenomenon. After a difficult development, the free-to-play game has caught the attention of gamers on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PCs, iPhones and Android devices . And with Sony's recent announcement of a cross-game beta with all major gaming platforms, the biggest game in the world will soon be more popular .

Fortnite began as a zombie-killing, cooperative third-person shooter, building fortifications, warding off hordes, and moving on to the next attack. Now known as "save the world" mode, it has tons of RPG elements as well as skill trees, character classes and more. It was first unveiled by developer Epic Games in 201

1, rarely appearing for years before entering early access in 2017. The $ 40 cooperative title made with the Unreal Engine stood by itself, but it was not until Epic decided To add a Free Battle Royale game mode to boost awareness of the core game, Fortnite has been transformed from a mildly successful game into a worldwide phenomenon.

What is Battle Royale?

The Battle Royale genre is fairly new to gaming, but has quickly become one of the most popular on the planet. The rules are simple: one hundred people jump out of Fortnite's battle bus and parachute onto an island, search for assault rifles and equipment, then fight each other until only one person is left, resulting in a victory for Royale. Meanwhile, a storm is closing over the island with ever-narrowing circles, forcing people to survive. It is heavily inspired by its namesake: a Japanese manga and a film of the same name following a similar murderous arc.

In Season 5, the Fortnite card was heavily modified by Lazy Links (top center) and Paradise Palms (desert area in the lower right corner.

Battle royale games entered Mainstream with PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds (PUBG), a more realistic-looking title that laid the foundation for Fortnite's success. But Fortnite has quickly overtaken its predecessor for a number of reasons and is at the forefront of the popular consciousness of the gaming world. The originators of PUBG were initially dissatisfied with this news and after a series of public complaints Fornite challenged a copyright infringement . You've dropped the claim since .

Legal entanglements aside, part of the call with any fight royale game is that every match can feel different. You can look everywhere and the Eye of the Storm joins at different locations in each game. Throw on the ever-changing combinations of randomly generated weapons and equipment ( including jetpacks! ) as you or your team struggle to become the lonely survivors, and you realize why the game attracted so many players ,

But what makes them return to Fortnite are weekly updates with new items and time-limited game modes. For example, an update to the game has added shopping trolleys that you can drive, giving players the first vehicles in the game, and giving people another reason to jump back into the game. Another update reveals Playground Mode where a group of friends can fall on the island without the threat of a storm, to experiment with weapons and practice building structures. The larger Season 5 update has added new areas to explore and all-terrain karts that you can ride with your entire squad. In addition, it did not hurt that [Fortune] opened the stage for future tie-in events with a cross-promotion of Avengers: Infinity War in which players could conquer the infinity glove and become Thanos while doing the Game played

Where to Play Fortnite

You can play Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One ($ 450 on Amazon) Mac, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch Android or iPhone ($ 999 at Walmart) . You can download Fortnite for free on all platforms, but you can only play Battle Royale mode. The aforementioned cooperative mode, called "Save The World", costs $ 40 and is not available to mobile users. But even on the platforms where Save The World is available, players become a rare breed compared to the Battle Royale.

It's important to note that the game works almost seamlessly on most platforms, but Mac users are worried about low frame rates, stuttering, and more.

Fortnite cross-play

For months Sony did not isolate a full-fledged disgruntled player player while playing friends on the world's most popular console with the other main consoles. Sony repeatedly claimed that player experience may be limited, but in a surprise announcement, they released a cross-platform beta on Wednesday that would allow PS4 players, both Xbox and Switch Players to get in touch. The program currently includes PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Mac platforms.

Where can I get the Android version?

In an interesting move, Epic Games announced that Fortnite can not be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Instead, the company has a stand-alone installer on its website where players need to load the game onto their devices.

Fortnite came exclusively to the Galaxy Note 9 first but Epic Games has full list of phones The Android beta version of the game will now work as the exclusivity period is over. [19659005] So many in-app purchases

Since Fortnite's Battle Royale mode is free, Epic Games lures players with cosmetic items into its in-game store. Fortnite has a game currency called V-Bucks (which you can buy with real money or slowly earn through gameplay), which you can use to buy items. None of the items, gunskins, or emotes you buy will give you an edge in the game, but funny items like dance moves, new outfits, and new gliders are constantly moving in the store to make you spend your money perform ridiculous dance after winning.

It is no harm to distinguish yourself from other players if you are willing to spend a little money. However, it can be problematic if, for example, your child has access to in-app purchases on their smartphone and is pulled into the freemium cycle. Fortunately, we found ways to make your children play without having to pay .

Obtaining Items and V-Bucks with the Battle Pass

You may want one of these chic dance emotes, but you do not want to buy them one at a time? Instead of paying them in the shop, you can also earn dance moves, outfits and other items by buying the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass costs $ 9.99 and has a tiered system that you can use to gain loot over time.

Fortnite receives big updates about once every quarter and starts what Epic calls a new season. We are currently in Season 5 which has resulted in major updates, including two new named cities on the map, all-terrain karts that you can use to drive a whole troop, and many other enhancements. With each new season, there is the opportunity to buy a Battle Pass for this season. Every week of the season there are new challenges, which are reset every Tuesday at 4pm. PT. Challenges can prompt you to get a certain number of kills with a specific weapon or go to specific locations during the game.

Some challenges will be easy to solve over time, but you need to focus to reach the more difficult ones.

For example, one challenge may be to "open seven chests in Pleasant Park." If you come into play, you can go to Pleasant Park to try to find seven chests in one game (which would be quite a challenge!), Or you can master the challenge across multiple games. When you're done, you'll earn points to unlock the next level of the Fight Pass, which could give you a dance train, V-Bucks, emotes, or other items. You can always scroll through the layers to see the things you will get in the future.

The more weekly tasks you perform, the faster you can unlock Tiers, which makes it another way to slowly slow things down over time. 19659013] You have to unlock as many of the 100 levels as you can by the end of the current season. When the season is over, any progress you've made in your challenges will be reset, and you'll have to buy a new passport next season.

Here you can see Fortnite 24/7

There are unlimited Fortnite videos on YouTube, and the game has become the most watched game on Twitch, so you will not have a problem finding a video or stream. See for Fortnite tips. According to Twitchmetrics, Fortnite has an average of more than 200,000 viewers across multiple Fortnite channels at this time. Second on the list is League of Legends, which gets just over 100,000. PUBG is now third with almost 55,000. As you can see, the apprentice is now the master.

There are many different Fortnite streams to choose from, but the most popular Fortnite streamer is by far Ninja, which has 7.5 million followers on Twitch. He is so popular that he played a stream in which he played Fornite with the rapper Drake who broke the Twitch attendance record with a peak of over 600,000 viewers. And you can expect even more places to see competing Fortnite and Esports leagues in the future, Epic Announces $ 100 Million Investment in eSport Tournaments .

Long story short, you will not have a problem watching a game, but why not just download this free game and try it yourself? All it costs is your free time and a few $ 10 Battle Passes once you're addicted.

Live Events

During the summer of 2018, Fortnite had a one-time live event that required players to be online at some point so they would not miss it. This first live event was a rocket launch, which the company raised a few days in advance. At the appointed time, millions of gamblers parachuted to the rocket silo site to watch him jump, explode and create a multi-dimensional rift in the sky, along with smaller cracks scattered throughout the map. The episodes showed that huge areas of the map were changed.

In Season 5, during a live tournament, a giant purple cube appeared on the map. Then it went on slowly around the map which made people speculate that they might destroy another area or make other map changes. If Season 6 starts, we'll probably find out the final goal of the cube, but that's just another way Epic lets players play more.

We can not know Epic's plans for future events, but the rocket launch and the purple dice events generated tons of hype for the game, creating a "you must be there" moment, making other special events likely.

Where can Fortnite go from here?

It's hard to say what Epic Games could do with the hottest game in the world in the future. The company is making great new weapons and features almost every week, so it's going to be interesting to see where it goes.

Epic has also become interested in the game through seasonal events and a mysterious backstory that unfolds slowly over time. For example, the end of the fourth season brought the players a Missile Event that significantly changed the season 5 card. At the end of Season 5, a weird gigantic purple cube was launched and since then it's slowly moving on the map, with most gamblers speculating that this will be the key to changes in Season 6. Guessing the players seems to be the topic here, and Epic manages by all means to hold people back for more.

Fortnite could also follow PUBG's example and add news cards to spice up the gameplay (but with Fortnite's signature, stupid style). Further vehicles could be another interesting direction, with competitors PUBG H1Z1 and now Call of Duty: Blackout successful with vehicle gameplay.

Regardless of the direction of Fortnite takes keep an eye on CNET to receive continuing coverage of Fortnite.
