All high-level executives who came in contact with Ray have now been tested twice for Covid-19, once on the Tuesday following Ray’s diagnosis and again on Wednesday. None of the other tests for high-ranking executives were positive, said Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman.
“We will continue to follow CDC’s self-quarantine and contact tracing guidelines,” Hoffman said.
The Pentagon is treating last Friday’s meeting of top officers as a source of the possible spread of the virus, not a Gold Star event at the White House on Sept. 27, attended by President Donald Trump, Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, Chief of Staff Ray and other senior military leaders.
Milley, Vice Chairman General John Hyten, and the other leaders who have come into contact with Ray continue to isolate and perform their duties using secure telephone and video calls.
