-month test

After using this phone as a daily driver for a month, the included 25W charger is definitely my favorite feature. Coming from a Galaxy S10 + I got used to the relatively slow loading – but now it only takes me 30 minutes to get started. The battery life is impressive and takes a day and a half before the battery needs to be recharged (and I charge only 80% to ensure battery life).

The other feature that made it difficult for me to leave the phone is the display. For someone like me, who likes to watch Netflix while I eat, it was perfect to have a phone with such a beautiful big screen. One complaint I have is that the curved edges make it slippery when supported on the side. However, you can solve it anytime by adding a case with a kickstand such as the $ 18.99 ESR Metal Case from Amazon.

The performance was great. In contrast to the Galaxy S10 + (at least initially), I felt that 12 GB of RAM worked, because I returned to apps that I had opened hours ago without having to redraw, even if 10 to 15 apps were open. I also liked the weight of the phone compared to the Galaxy S10 +, which felt similar to the LG V30 (which I do not like) – but of course you could have other preferences.

The disadvantages of this phone are sparse, but the lack of a headphone jack still affects me, especially if Samsung does not have the $ 14.99 dongle in its box. Due to the way the drivers work on Samsung devices, I could not use the USB Audio Pro Player (an app that I strongly recommend to get the most out of headphone adapters and USB-C headphones). At first, I also had some problems connecting third-party dongles (they felt comfortable in the USB-C port), but it seemed to come off later.

The camera is better than the Galaxy S10 +, but not noticeably better a bit disappointing. Although the S Pen is a great addition, I just do not use it. Although Samsung continued to expand its functionality and even opened the SDK for third-party developers, I was not only forced to record handwritten notes with the screen off, but was also on the phone.
