Winter is coming this spring. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones begins on April 1
To see the coming and going in Westeros as Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the Starks fight against the Lannisters and the Army of the Dead as well as their recently acquired army of dragons over the wall – The Last Battleis called lengthy and unbearably bloody – you need a way to see HBO. Fortunately, there are many easy ways to subscribe, even if you do not have a cable.
Season 8 Game of Thrones Schedule
This past season features six oversized episodes that span both hours and lengths. It's all over by mid-May – sniff.
Plan to drop your Sunday evenings at 21:00. (8:00 pm Central) in the US, around the tax day. Here is the schedule:
- Episode 1: April 14
- Episode 2: April 21
- Episode 3: April 28
- Episode 4: May 5

HBO's Two Most Important Streaming Options
If you've already subscribed to HBO as part of a cable or satellite TV package, you'll get HBO Go for free. You can stream Game of Thrones along with the rest of the HBO shows to supported phones, tablets, connected TVs, and game consoles. Not only can you see GoT's past seven seasons with HBO Go, but you can stream the new episodes live as they air on HBO.
Unlike the aforementioned free streaming add-on, HBO Now is a stand-alone subscription to HBO – no cable or satellite TV subscription required.
It costs $ 15 a month and you can watch HBO via the HBO-Now app or in a browser on HBONow.com. The HBO Now app is available on a range of devices, including mobile devices, smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku. Like HBO Go, the new episodes will be streamed live on Sunday night, just as they will be aired on HBO.
Adding HBO to a Streaming Service
You can add HBO to four of thebelow for an additional monthly fee. Unfortunately, if you're a GoT fan and also a subscriber to Sling TV or YouTube TV, I'm sorry to say you're out of luck. No service offers HBO. Here are four that do the following:
HBO is an add-on for every Hulu plan at $ 15 a month, starting at $ 5.99 a month.
Amazon Prime Video
Prime members can add HBO for $ 15 a month. A Prime membership costs $ 119 per year.
DirecTV Now subscribers can add HBO (along with Cinemax) for the low price of $ 5 a month to every plan starting at $ 40 a month. This is the cheapest option among live TV streaming services.
GoT in the UK, Australia and elsewhere
According to a representative of HBO, Game of Thrones is broadcast in all but four countries in the world – but not necessarily on HBO. In the UK, for example, HBO shows can be seen on Sky Atlantic and sky online services Sky Go and Now TV. In Australia, Game of Thrones is broadcast on television and online at Foxtel. In both countries, the show will be broadcast at the same time as in the US (ie Early Monday) and will be repeated on Monday night.
HBO limits the use of VPNsused to stream the above-mentioned services from outside the United States.
