A redesigned overview of the latest apps is one of the key changes that will be made with Android P if it starts later this year. Incredibly, Samsung has beaten Google to the last blow, and has provided this feature for all its Oreo-based Galaxy phones with its Good Locks app.
In addition to the ability to change recent apps from the traditional vertical overview to the more intuitive horizontal layout, Samsung's Task Changer add-on for Good Lock lets you optimize animations and one-hand access, along with an option to close all running Applications at once. It's clear that Samsung has outperformed Google, making us one of the best existing apps managers.
Step 1: Install Good Lock 2018
This mod will only work on Galaxy devices running Android 8.0 Oreo. Please update your S7, S8, S9 or Note 8 if you have not already done so. Once you've updated it, go to the Galaxy Apps Store in your app drawer and then locate and install Good Lock 2018. For a more detailed walkthrough, read our complete Good Lock tutorial.
Next, open Good Lock and select "Task Changer" from the main menu. This redirects you directly to the Companion app download page in the Galaxy Apps Store. Click "Install" to activate the add-on. Exit Galaxy Apps and return to Good Lock after you're done.
After installation, see Put a big check next to "Task Changer" on the main Good Lock page, so tap again to go to the settings page. Then tap the switch on the right under "Task Changer Settings" to activate the function, then "Scroll Effects" to select the desired layout.
There are many layouts to choose from, starting with "Cube In". to "rotation down". But for most Android P-like experience we recommend either "Linear" or "Scale". There is a preview area directly via "scroll effect" so you can make a selection and check its appearance until you find the one that suits your tastes.
If all available options are not sufficient, current apps can be scaled down to make it easier to use with one hand. Simply tap "Mini Mode" to turn it on. Unlike Scroll Effect this feature can not be displayed in the Task Changer Preferences page, but please do not, you can look at it and get a better idea of what the GIF below looks like.
