Google not only recently announced two new Pixel phones, but has also introduced a new call screening service, theand Certainly help will be with calls from unknown numbers or people who would rather avoid you.
The call screen answers incoming calls, asks the person for more information, and gives options throughout the selection process to better handle the call. The overall experience is well done, impressive and easy to use.
How to Use It
Every time your Pixel ($ 379 on Amazon) rings, you'll see the default incoming call interface, but with a new Screen Call button. You do not need to enable the feature ̵
Once the caller starts to speak, a transcript of his or her answer will be displayed in real time on the screen of your phone. Just below the log is a series of buttons that allow you to ask more questions to the caller. Indicate that you are busy, are not interested or want to be called later.
If the call is a solicitor or spam, you can report it as such and Google ends the call. If it's someone you want to talk to, press the green answer button and start talking.
The entire experience is incredible, impressive and easy to use.
You can change the voice used for the call screen by switching from the standard female voice to a male voice.
Open the Phone app, tap the Menu button, and then tap Settings. At the bottom of the options is the call screen. Select Call Screen then Voice . After you have previewed each voice, select it and go back out of the settings.
Privacy in the first place
The call screen uses Google Assistant to monitor the call. Just as the assistant maps your requests in real-time, incoming calls are also transmitted. At no point in the call will information be sent to Google's servers – everything happens on your phone.
Every time you talk to Google Assistant for tasks such as sending a message or playing music, Google saves a recording of the audio to your Google Account.
Google does not link or store any audio or transcripts associated with the calling screen in your Google Account. You can see the list of interactions and hear the sound from everyone here.) I have looked at my story and can not find any cases of call screen being used.
Coming to More Phones
Currently Call Screen is available only on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google has said that Call Screen will come in November via a software update to older pixel devices.
