Google Sheets now automates data entry with Smart Fill – Review Geek

Google takes the boredom out of spreadsheets with Smart Fill, an AI-powered feature that automatically pulls in and fills in data based on context. Smart Fill was first announced by Google in June and will be available to all Sheets users through November 5th.

7;s words, Smart Fill makes data entry “faster and less error-prone”. As you fill in columns, Sheets automatically detects patterns and automatically completes the rest of the column for you. For example, if you have a column full of addresses and another column for postcodes, Smart Fill will look for the corresponding postcodes and ask for your permission to automatically enter them.

Smart Fill can also pull data from the Google Knowledge Graph or your contact list. Corporate customers with Google Workspace can use Smart Fill to automatically retrieve data from their company’s address book.

Google is now introducing Smart Fill for Sheets. The company states that all users, including corporate customers and free accounts, will have Smart Fill by November 5th.
